\nDear Luis Camnitzer,<\/p>\n

I spent months sending you faxes,
\nbecause faxes would be the only means to contact you.
\nSo I faxed and faxed and faxed.
\nPersistant, almost intrusive.<\/p>\n

And I wonder where my faxes went – but surely it wasn’t you.
\nThe gallery then opened their doors for meeting you.<\/p>\n

White, clean, controlled space and you, severe, attentive yet distant.
\nOh yes, you said, 25 years ago you would have done these things, but now …<\/p>\n

These things. But now.<\/p>\n

Even way more than 25 years ago it was you exploring the means of printmaking, and thus, of meaning.
\nExperimenting with ambivalence.
\nWhat can meaning mean? Not even speaking of significance.
\nAnd then I saw the twinkle and I recognized the spurs of humour and endurance.
\nYou outline humour in woe and poetry in shame.
\nNot many dare and even less can do … these things.<\/p>\n

The same night you sent me the sketches for Symmetrical Jails.
\nI am deeply grateful for these things,
\nthose things you never stopped doing.<\/p>\n

I bow to you, humble,
\nyes! and I thank you:<\/p>\n
